Our friends are involved in this starting this weekend (more info here). So forget about the Tour, the real race is happening in our own backyard. If you have a philanthropic bent donations in support of good causes can be made here (select the Hot Pursuit 2010 donation)

If you need to get your racing jones satisfied you can always do the Alter Ego ITT on Sunday as well, info here.

Grand Beach - Done

All results.

Organizing 2 races in 2 weeks is nuts - please someone shoot us if we ever do that again. Having said that it is nice being able to have the volunteers to allow us to do that, huge thanks to: Lindsay, Liam, Arlene F, Tomek J, Dave L and Owen, David and Madelyn (honorary OCC members), Sheldon M, Craig (on loan from FGBC), Andrea Marginet & Family (honorary OCC members), Luc A, AlĀ  D, Donna D, Laura L, Paul O, Adrian A, Tommy R, Ed U (honorary OCC member), Liz L (the things you do for family???), Ron K, Dan L, Graham W (on loan from Training Co-op), Josh G (honorary OCC member), and Cory S.

It was wet and cool like promised and it made for a fast track, the sand compacting nicely because of the rain. Some new single track and throwing the baby heads back in made for a more technical and fun course - plans for some new single track are in the works for next year. A new kids loop was included and proved to be a big hit. It was a rolling course, well suited to singlespeeds (1st in Elite, 1st, 3rd and 6th in Expert).

Here are a few pics from Tommy.

Weekend Rides and Spring Cleaning (maybe)

Need to find things to do this weekend? Well, we have options for you.

Saturday, April 17th there is a trail prep and clean up at Bur Oak - what time? Comment and let’s see what works for the most people.

Sunday, April 18th - Grand Beach (this time I’m going to make sure my chain ring bolts are tight). Ride, map, decide a course, look at the new proposed kids course - again, what time, let us know by comment.

Spring Cleaning - every year Lindsay goes out and cleans up a section of Roblin. He always threatens to let us know when he is going to do this so we can join him, but then ends up going out on his own and telling us later that it had been done. Maybe this year we can join him, after all, he’s been slowed by his recent shoulder surgery (do we really think this is going to slow him down???) We’re looking at Wednesday, April 21 as an evening to do this. Let Lindsay know. There was talk of going out for pizza later. Lindsay will walk out there to meet us.
