Grass Track Wednesday - Postponed

Word on the street is this is event is postponed until July 22nd.

A fun cyclocross (or mountain, or road racing) training opportunity brought to you by the Manitoba Union of Cyclocross Riders (MUCR).

Track open for warm up at 6:30, training races start at 7 sharp
Mixed program of long and short, team and individual events
Any MCA member over 16 years of age can rideĀ  (only general membership required, not a racing license), OR…
Fun to watch (bring a blanket/chair, bug spray, noisemaker of your choosing…)
Beer at the Belgian Club afterwards (around 8:30, they only take cash)

Pan Am Games Velodrome - Rotting in New Mexico

Olympia Cycling Club - Fort Garry “Invitational” Sprint Competition

Given the lack of decent roads, Ian Hall (aka Gianni aka The Red Devil) put together a not-so-competitive event this evening that included a visit to the Olympia Cycling Club torture chamber (aka Cycleops PT300 torture device).

Prior to the ‘race’ (all out sprint with a 20 second warm-up, wearing flat-trap pedals and ill-fitting clothing), all riders had to consume the traditional Olympia club meal, perogies and espresso. However, one rider had to abandon this part of the pre-race ritual, as he was concerned about potential complications with an existing spiritual condition. He shall remain nameless.
