For a course that was not suppose to have as much sand as previous RtB courses, this one managed to hold its own when it came to stretches of granular hell. The saving grace for this course was the salvation of more hard pack sections, variety of terrain, and interesting twists and turns of trail. It was hot, humid and sunny with some overcast, and not a drop of rain anywhere but in Winnipeg.
40+ riders took on the course and most, if not all had a good good time; some got lost and were found, some set blistering paces while others took a more measured approach. The food was good and shared experience of the event was even better - there is no better way to start August than participating in the classic enduro formerly know as Reach the Beach and now known as “Where’s the Beach? In Stead”
Please let us know how you felt about the event: good, bad or indifferent, we want to know so we can make it even better for you next year.
Results will be posted soon.

We’ve got some good eats planned following the race…

Burritos and mango salad from our good friends at Casa Burrito
and watermelon, hmmm, watermelon
Not only good food, but some swell swag as well in the form of these stylish caps

Are you better looking than these guys?
See you all on Sunday.

Liam has arranged a showing of this at the Park Theater on Sunday, July 18th @ 7:00. For more information go here. Looks to be good.

Our friends are involved in this starting this weekend (more info here). So forget about the Tour, the real race is happening in our own backyard. If you have a philanthropic bent donations in support of good causes can be made here (select the Hot Pursuit 2010 donation)

If you need to get your racing jones satisfied you can always do the Alter Ego ITT on Sunday as well, info here.

Sounds like a bunch of people will be there. Some are leaving from Hal’s place around 10:30 to be there for 12:00. If you’re comingĀ bring your best poison ivy protection.
