It was another fun night of racing at BHP. 46 brave racers didn’t let a day of rain scare them off and were treated to no rain during sign in, warm up and the race. If anyone has photos from yesterday, please email me a few or send a link if they are online.
Kurt Huff was mistakenly left out of the Sport Men’s results, the results have been revised below. Sorry Kurt.
WNRS Race 5 - Results - REVISED
The kids got to do a full lap of the adult course instead of the kids loop for a change, hopefully they had a good time.
The course was on the shorter side, with most of the rooty technical sections taken out due to the VERY wet conditions and hug puddles in the course. There was standing water in areas where non of us have ever seen water on that course before.
Final Race - August 12th
Don’t miss the final race of the series, you have to do at least four races to qualify for the overall in your category. There will also be some draw prizes at the final race on August 12th.

August 5th is a go!
This post from Brian Szklarczuk
After a 10+ year hiatus, the Olympia weekly ’shoot-out’ is returning. It’s a simple ride - meet at the shop, ride out west and back on road bikes with gears. The speed is fast with sprint points along the way, lots of gutter-balling and nose-piercing, puke-fest fast echelons. For those who get ’shot-out’ the back, you get picked by the group up on the way home.
Oh, and we may decide to bring back the historic ‘olympia leaders jersey’ back into the fold, depending on how the shoot-outs go.
Shoot-Out #1
Where: Olympia
When: Wed Aug 5
Time: Depart at 6:00 pm sharp
Distance: 80+km
Note: We anticipate a few more shoot-outs this month, but it will be on a week-to-week basis.

Longtime Olympia Cycling Club member Marty Halprin runs a jewellery business, and he loves bikes. So what do you get when you mix bike and business (and a desire for green advertising)? You get a marketing campaign built around Winnipeg’s only bike taxi business - Wheely Green.

Watch for Wheely Green (and the Celia’s Jewellery ad) in downtown Winnipeg this summer!

Here are the updated overall points for the WNRS. Looks like there are some close categories. Remember, you have to do at least 4 races to be eligable for the overall.
