One of the things on the calendar for next year for the Olympia Cycling Club is a Spring classics style road race. A lot of gravel in and around Bruxelles and Holland (Manitoba not those other ones across the pond). A few of us are going to scout out the course, if you are interested meet at the PetroCan (McGillivray @ Perimeter) at 8:30 AM on Sunday, November 15th. Bring your cross bike or equivalent.

The Remembrance Day ride was great. 9 of us enjoyed a fine day of hunter free mountain biking at Grand Beach. 2 laps, some lunch, scouting some new trails, and then 2 more laps - a fine day indeed.

It is suppose to be a nice day on Wednesday so some of us are heading up to Grand Beach for a mountain bike ride. There are two options:

  1. Wave one will leave meet at the trail head at 9:30 for a couple of laps before lunch. If you are going to do this one and you want to stay for the second wave bring a lunch.
  2. Wave two will meet at the trail head at 1:30 for a ride and to do some scouting of new lines and possible trail development

what will the course be like this weekend?

well, it will be different than last week’s course…

mud1although fun, there won’t be any of this (your bike will remain clean)

sand1definitely a challenge, but none of this  so your chain won’t break and your rims won’t grind away

hillnothing like this on the course, just fast, rolling, but mostly flat

funthere will be plenty of this though: good times, smiles, & fun
